The emergence of new non-stick coatings, called “ceramic” and used in the manufacture of cookware designed for cooking has led SFC to question the regulations governing these “consumer products” in terms of general safety of products and performance. Thus, SFC now has adequate means of investigation to:

Check the durability of non-stick coatings according to standard NF D 21-511:

  • Non-stick control
  • Corrosion tests
  • Wear tests in normal use and in abusive use.

Check the general safety and performance requirements of the products according to standard NF EN 12983-1:

  • Product construction requirements
  • Resistance to burning
  • Heat resistance
  • Resistance to Torque (Torsional strength)
  • Bending strength (Flexural strength)
  • Handle fatigue
